2008 Carnival News

As many of you will know, last years carnival was cancelled due to the severe flooding that affected the local community, and we promised that this years carnival would be bigger and better than ever before... So here we go!

This years carnival will be on Saturday the 12th of July 2008 - 11am - 6pm

The funfair and circus will of course be on site from Thursday through till Sunday, and there will be a car boot sale and a battle of the bands music event on the Sunday - but we've put all our efforts into making the Saturday a fun filled day for all the family.

As well as the talent show and all the exciting events in the main arena, there will be Bouncy castles for children, Face painting, the Police's Mobile Prison, Donkey rides, Henna body painting,  Dog chipping sessions, pipe bands and much more.

This year we have a multi cultural theme, embracing cultures, customs and cuisine from around the world. Including, African music and dance, Indian dancing, dress and food, Chinese lion dancing, and Polish food.
Those with more reserved food taste can be assured that there will be plenty of burgers, chips and homemade ice cream available too!

Don't forget that entry to the carnival is FREE and car parking is available to the public, the carnival will be opened at 11am by the Lord mayor of Hull.
