Important News about 2007 Carnival |

| At a recent meeting of the carnival steering group, the decision was made to cancel this years carnival. This very sad option was agreed in light of the recent extreme floods in the city of Hull, in particular the Bransholme area. The 'Stuart Harris' Bransholme Peoples Carnival is all about the community, many of whom have been severely affected by the recent floods, loosing personal belongings or feeling the disruption caused. Therefore the steering group felt that to continue with this years carnival would be in poor taste, and peoples hearts would not be in it. In addition to this Bude Road Park where the carnival is held each year, has become very waterlogged due to the floods, and would not stand having heavy rides and vehicles taken onto the site. We appologise to all those people who were booked to appear at the carnival, and both the Bransholme community and our visitors from further afield, that we have had to cancel the carnival at such short notice. However........ We are already hard at work organizing next years carnival, and weather permitting - hope to make the most of the extra years planning time to make the 2008 carnival an event to remember.
